The CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls) Specialist will focus on supervising our outsourced process development activities and maintenance of manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and/or experience in at least one of the following areas – developing various chromatography-based purification techniques, impurity clearance or mammalian cell culturing for biopharmaceuticals. The goal of Faron CMC is to work consistently and with precision to advance our development programs, and we hope to find a like-minded professional to join our team.
Key responsibilities
- Supervision of outsourced process development work (especially downstream) and maintenance of up-to-date documentation and archives
- Development, validation and maintenance of manufacturing processes suitable for GMP manufacture and desired impurity clearance
- Identifying process changes and improvements
- Designing process control strategy together with QC specialist
- Review of master and executed production records for technical and GMP compliance
- Supporting regulatory submission files as required
Ideal candidate
- BSc or MSc in relevant scientific discipline with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in process development and manufacturing in pharmaceutical industry; preferably with biopharmaceuticals
- In-depth knowledge and experience in purification techniques based on chromatrography and their development, development of process control strategies and impurity clearance, designing experiments with sound scientific rationale and troubleshooting and understanding of protein chemistry and related regulatory requirements; principles about mammalian cell culturing, bioprocesses and bioreactors
- Experience in supervision and reporting of outsourced work
- Precise documenting skills
- Good communication skills and excellent written and verbal English skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
